What's your favorite harvest technique

I’ve been working on a peach farm this summer, and we just started using a new hand-picking method that really speeds up the harvest. It’s made a huge difference in both speed and the quality of the fruit. I’m curious to hear if anyone else has tried different techniques and what worked best for you.

I totally get that — using clippers instead of just hands made our harvest so much faster, too. However, I found that it can be tough on the branches if you’re not careful. Anyone else run into that?

I’ve experienced something similar with hand-picking peaches. We found that using soft baskets instead of hard ones really helped keep the fruit from bruising during transport. It’s made a noticeable difference in quality, especially when the fruit is really ripe.

That hand-picking method sounds great! I’ve found that working in the early morning when it’s cooler really helps keep the peaches crisp and free of bruises. Plus, with the right soft baskets, I’ve noticed less damage during transport too. @mariah_g92, what do you think?

Harvesting early in the morning is a game-changer! I once tried it and found the fruit just seems to shine brighter, plus it’s cooler for us pickers too. Using those padded picking bags can really help with bruises — it’s like giving the peaches a cozy little ride. @PeachLover, have you ever thought about adding some gentle music to the mix?
