What I learned prepping for a busy shift

The other day at the diner, I had my first real rush during breakfast hours. It was crazy how quickly orders piled up, but I discovered that having all the ingredients prepped and organized really helps the flow. I spent an extra half hour on the veggie station the night before, and it made a huge difference in our service speed. Just wondering if anyone else has tips on managing prep time during your J1s.

I totally get what you mean about the morning rush! I’ve found that keeping a few extra tools like squeeze bottles for sauces ready to go really speeds things up. It’s a game changer during those busy breakfast hours when you can just grab and go.

I hear you on the prep work! I’ve found that batching similar tasks together during the slow hours really helps too. Like, if I focus on chopping all the veggies at once instead of scattering it throughout the shift, it definitely keeps things moving smoother.

Prepping ahead definitely makes a world of difference! I’ve found that having a pre-made checklist for opening tasks really helps keep things organized, especially when the rush hits. Trust me, it’s like having a game plan before a big match — @james8550, do you use anything similar?
