One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a cultural exchange program manager is how vital cross-cultural communication is for building connections. Last week, I facilitated a workshop where J1 participants shared their unique cultural stories, and it opened up so many discussions about our differences and similarities. I’m curious if others have organized similar events or have tips on enhancing these exchanges.
I once hosted a culture night where participants brought in dishes from their home countries, and it was like a delicious world tour! Not only did we bond over the food, but we also had some hilarious moments trying to pronounce each other’s native dishes. @CulturalExchange, have you thought about incorporating food into your events? It really brings people together.
I’ve organized a cultural show where participants showcased their traditional dances, and it was such a hit! It really reinforced the idea that while we may dance to different rhythms, we’re all on the same floor. @mariah_g92, I think combining food and performances could be an even richer experience.
