Keeping context with Jira and GitLab CI

How do you keep a clean mental map when sprint work collides with hotfixes? I’m a J-1 intern still ramping up on Jira and GitLab CI, and after a 3 pm deploy I’m not sure which jobs or env vars changed without clicking through six tabs. Any lightweight way — queries, dashboards, or habits — to stay quick in a fast-paced shop while I’m learning the stack?

I add a tiny “deploy digest” job at the end of the pipeline that runs on main/hotfix and writes a dotenv report of the key env vars + commit info, then uploads a single artifact you can pin on the Environment page — one click, no tab spelunking; docs: CI/CD YAML syntax reference | GitLab Docs. Pair it with a Jira saved filter like project = X AND labels = hotfix AND updated >= -1d so your dashboard mirrors what shipped — want me to paste a minimal.gitlab-ci.yml snippet?

Wire GitLab pipeline webhook to Jira Automation; comment ‘3 pm deploy’ with env vars + SHA. Need admin?

, same pain — after a “3 pm deploy” I keep two anchors: a saved Jira JQL like project = ABC AND updated >= -3h ORDER BY updated DESC, and GitLab’s Compare view from the last deploy tag to main (/-/compare?from=prod-2025-11–08-1500&to=main) so I see exactly what changed without six tabs. If you tag each deploy in CI this is a 5‑sec check; tiny caveat: someone has to create that tag reliably — want the exact JQL I use? https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/user/project/merge_requests/compare.html.
