Best way to track coffee chats

I’m a J‑1 intern on our corporate strategy team and booked 8 coffee chats in January using Outlook and Teams, but my notes are scattered across emails and a notebook. What tools or workflows do you use to track contacts and follow-ups — Notion, Excel, or a lightweight CRM — and set reminders so I can network consistently while building real project experience?

I keep a single Notion table: Name, Team, Last chat, “Next touch” (with a reminder), and I set the next touch before closing the meeting — “no next date, it didn’t happen.” The calendar view becomes my pipeline, and a tiny formula flags overdue pings; if you’d rather stay Microsoft, flag your thank-you email in Outlook and add a category so Tasks drives follow-ups. If OneNote is enabled, the Outlook Meeting Notes button ties the invite to your page for quick logging.

Since you’re already on Outlook/Teams, set up one Outlook Quick Step: when you book a chat, hit “Coffee Chat” to auto-flag the meeting, create a task due in 30 days, and pop a linked OneNote page for notes — , scattered notes drove me nuts until this… I also tag the contact with a category (e.g., Strategy) so I can filter who to ping next; how-to on flags/reminders: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/use-flags-to-set-reminders-4fca8a08-1bbc-4f48-83ff-9f1893f73f4a. Does your team allow OneNote, or do you have to stick to Excel?
